Players Please, 1928
Players Please rectangular counter card. The background is dark blue with a gold edging. In the bottom right hand corner is the sailor in a life-buoy trade mark. The upstroke of the letter a in the text has been extended with a pencil mark and the logo is stuck rather than printed. The text reads " Players // Please". On the reverse is a support to allow the card to stand upright. There is a rubber stamp which reads " TOM BROWNE & CO. (NOTTINGHAM) LTD. // LITHOGRAPHIO // COLOR [sic] PRINTERS // NOTTINGHAM". There is also a white label with two rubbers stamps on it. The first reads " TRADE MARKS DEPT // I.T.C. CO. LTD // 11 JUN 1928 // APPROVED // T.M.S.". The second, imperfect stamp reads " APPROVED BY // BRISTOL MEMBERS OF EXECUTIVE // 12 ?"
