Navy Cut Tobacco and Cigarettes, 1922
Players Navy Cut Cigarettes and Tobacco rectangular, 3-D counter card. On the rear section is a picture of a bay, with a fishing boat in the distance. There is a harbour wall and a lighthouse. On the front section is a picture of a harbour scene with three properties facing out to sea. The first is possibly a shop. It has a bay window above which is the Players sailor inside a life-buoy trade mark and a sign which reads " PLAYERs NAVY CUT". The next is probably a pub with a sign " THE // FISHERMANs // REST". The third may be a house. A woman is carrying a tray towards the harbour, another is standing in a doorway talking to a man seated outside the pub. An older man is talking to a little girl who carries a hoop. By the harbour is a fisherman who is leaning over to help another fisherman come ashore. There is a dog and a lobster pot next to him. In the bottom right hand corner is a packet of Gold Leaf tobacco and a packet of Medium cigarettes. The text on the card reads " PLAYERs NAVY CUT // TOBACCO & CIGARETTES."
