Players Navy Cut Medium cigarettes rectangular counter card. The card is slightly padded over a metal frame, with a glossy finish. In the centre is a picture of three sailors around a table, two, who are seated in profile to the left and right of the picture, smoke pipes. The central, standing figure, facing the viewer is lighting a cigarette. The figure to the right is older than the others, wears a beard and glasses and is attempting to thread a needle. The scene is lit by a single candle in a lantern. The caption below the picture reads " " WATCH BELOW" ". To the right of the picture is the text " Life on board a roving // " tramp" is hard and // rigorous, for, whether // facing the challenge of // a Cape Horn " snorter" // or languishing in the // Doldrums, the " watch // below" // brings welcome // relief. There, over a // friendly smoke, bodies // are rested, spirits // revived - and much- // needed repairs under-// taken." Overlapping the picture is a pack of Medium cigarettes. In the bottom left hand corner of the card is a miniature of a tramp steamer in full steam and in the bottom right hand corner is a miniature of a marker buoy or similar object. Between is the text " PLAYERs // NAVY CUT CIGARETTES // PLAIN OR CORK TIPPED // 10 FOR 6D // 20 FOR 11 1/2D // 50 FOR 2/5 // FLAT TIN". On the reverse is a support to allow the card to stand upright
