Navy Mixture tobacco, 1927
Players Navy Mixture tobacco counter card. The centre of the card is domed and depicts a galleon in full sail. Either side are packs of Navy mixture medium and white label tobacco. The text reads " AN ENGLISH MAN-OF-WAR OF THE EARLY SIXTEENTH CENTURY // PLAYERs // " NAVY" MIXTURE // " MILD", " MEDIUM" & " WHITE LABEL". On the reverse is a support to allow the card to stand upright and a hanging loop. There are three handwritten notes which read " 1927" ; " APPROX DATE 1927" and " C111". There is a label which reads " MARDONS // WINDOW NOVELTIES // EMBOSSED SHOWCARDS / &C, &C // VARNISHERS // GELATINERS & FRAME MAKERS // BRISTOL & LONDON."
