Airman Tobacco, 1929
Player's Airman Tobaccos pull-forward counter card. The top section is shaped like a cloud and is painted with a blue sky and white clouds. In the centre is a small sky-writing aeroplane which has just written "Player's Please". Centre top is a pack of Airman Mixture tobacco and to the right, where the back meets the base, is a pack of Airman Navy Cut which pops forward when the card is opened. On the left hand side is the connection where another pack of tobacco should be, which has been lost. The text on the base reads "PLAYER'S // AIRMAN // TOBACCOS // 9 1/2D // PER OZ.". On the reverse is a hand-written note in faded red ink "OK // 12.4.29 // GG". There is a support to allow the card to pull forward and stand upright. There is a label which reads "MARDONS // WINDOW NOVELTIES // EMBOSSED SHOWCARDS / &C, &C // VARNISHERS // GELATINERS & FRAME MAKERS // BRISTOL & LONDON."
